Commendations from External Parties

Onward Holdings announces it has been included in the FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index.
The FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index is designed as a sector neutral benchmark that reflects the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices in Japan. The index selects companies with higher ESG Ratings within the top 50% of each sector and supports climate transition to a low carbon economy by evaluating companies' climate governance and climate change efforts via the Transition Pathway Initiative's Management Quality Score.

Onward Holdings received a letter from the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare in March 2020 expressing appreciation for donations to the Japanese Red Cross Society. Such official letters of commendation are sent by the Japanese government to individuals and corporations that make donations to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
We began working with the Japanese Red Cross Society in 2011 as part of our social contribution activities and have been donating recycled blankets to people in disaster-affected areas in Japan and abroad as well as to developing countries. Having started with the donation of blankets, we are strengthening our partnership with the Japanese Red Cross Society in various fields.
The commendation attests to the value of our social contribution activities including the initiatives we have been working on through the Onward Group's official online shopping site Onward Crosset and friends and family sale events.

At the 2019 National Red Cross Convention held in May 2019, Onward Holdings received the President's Award in recognition of its ongoing contribution to projects of the Japanese Red Cross Society.
The National Red Cross Convention is held annually to honor those who endorse the philosophy of the Red Cross and promote Red Cross activities as part of their everyday operations, as well as to commend individuals and organizations for outstanding contributions to Red Cross activities, and to further promote the work of the Red Cross.
The commendation attests to the value of our ongoing contribution to international support, including donations of recycled blankets for those in disaster-affected areas and to the needy in developing countries through the Japanese Red Cross Society as part of the Onward Green Campaign, in addition to donations to Red Cross projects.

At the 67th Tokyo Social Welfare Convention held by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Tokyo Council of Social Welfare, and the Tokyo Community Chest in February 2019, Onward Kashiyama received a letter of appreciation from the Tokyo Council of Social Welfare.
This commendation is given to individuals and organizations in recognition of their social welfare initiatives, and Onward Kashiyama was selected for its contribution to the progress of social welfare in Tokyo. We began providing support to NPO Tokyo Foster Families Association in 2014 to help children, who because of their circumstances are unable to live with their own families and receiving social care, to develop soundly into well-rounded adults. To those children who are about to start elementary school, we distribute children's clothes with our label as gifts to celebrate the start of this new chapter in their lives.
